Selma is This Old House pick as a “Best Place in the South” for old homes

This Old House magazine (a spin-off of the popular PBS television show) highlights Selma in the article “Best Places in the South to Buy an Old House.” Selma is one of only 14 cities across the south chosen for the magazine’s list. In choosing the cities for the list This Old House factored in architecture, housing prices, and the livability of the city itself. The article begins by mentioning Selma’s place in history as the starting point for theRev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s voting-rights marches and its more than 1,250 historic structures and four National Historic Districts.
