Wayfinding and Wayshowing: How Travelers Find--or don't--Your Destination

Yesterday, August 26, 2008, two members of the America's Byways Resource Center in Minnesota came to Birmingham, Alabama for an all-day training session on directional signage, tourist interaction and how to provide a positive visitor experience--AND get tourists to find the places you want them to find. The workshop was primarily aimed at the scenic byways experience, but almost all of the information is just as relevant to every other community in Alabama. They've kindly provided the manual that they've been developing.
