The December/January edition of Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel magazine features a multi-page "Road Trip" feature article on Alabama. The article chronicles a 4-day trek through the state beginning with a flight into Birmingham and continuing to attractions and restaurants in Cullman, Decatur, Moulton, Newbern, Mason's Bend, Selma, Cahawba, and Montgomery. Photographs include the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Birmingham artist Joe Minter, Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q in Decatur, the Jesse Owens Museum in Moulton, the St. James Hotel in Selma, a cabin in Cahawba, the Civil Rights Memorial Center in Montgomery, a Rural Studio home in Newbern, and the Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman.
